CAD CAM Development

Above are the left and right housings for my speaker. I used some CAD CAM software called ProEngineer to construct these. I used ProEngineer because it allows me to quickly and easily construct objects that i wish to create. Another reason was because it enables me to have an accurate visual representation of what i am building, enabling me to see the final outcome.

Slicing in Rapid Pro

This is an image of Rapid Pro 'Slicing' my design of for my speaker housing. So that i can use the image created on ProEngineer and use it to create a 3D outcome from the 2D laser cutter.
I decided to use this method because it gave a faster and cheaper alternative to using a 3D printer, silicon moulding, or Rapid prototyping. Using this method also has the benefit of allowing you to install my components into the speaker surround as i construct it. Allowing for much easier overall construction for my particular project.
